In our Student and Alumni Profile series, we will regularly feature students and alumni to give you a glimpse of who we are, and more importantly, offer you insights and perspectives if you plan to walk the same path. Meet Rudolf Malle, who completed our Clinical Trial Management program and is currently working as Oncology Clinical Trials Manager at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.
Please share a little about yourself
I am a clinical research professional with experience in diverse therapeutic areas. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of Buea in Africa, after which I came to the United States and completed Medical Assistant certificate program. I was working as Medical Assistant in a private practice when a colleague informed me about Sollers.
What do you like about your experierence with Sollers?
I had very limited knowledge about clinical research when I first contacted Sollers. The admissions team was professional, approachable and enthusiastic to guide me and share career prospects in clinical research. I like that they were attentive and professional.
Did anything surprise you about your experience with Sollers?
Yes, actually. Since I’d never heard about Sollers, I didn’t know what to expect. Overall experience was great, but what I found particularly surprising is the dedication of professors in my success; they gave me time and were always available to guide me. I was also surprised that the career services team started building my resume just within few months of my starting the program.
What are your career goals / future plans?
After completing the Clinical Trials Management program, I immediately found placement as Clinical Trials Manager with Weill Cornell in New York. I am very interested in clinical research and hence pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Research / Pharmacovigilance.
Do you have any advice / tips for prospective students?
I’d say do your research. Although there are many short training programs in clinical research, I found Sollers College as the only approved institution that provides training on industry tools and exposure to industry projects, which are very vital to get a job when you don’t have prior experience. Clinical research is a career of the future, so make an informed decision.
